Bocconi New York is pleased to announce that Rector Gianmario Verona will visit us in October and invites alumni and friends to a reception. The Rector will be joined by Bocconiano Alessandro Bogliolo, Chief Executive Officer, Tiffany & Co., for a special presentation.
 
The reception is kindly being hosted at the Consolato Generale d'Italia, 690 Park Avenue on October 30th 18:00 to 20:30.
 
Consul General Francesco Genuardi will make welcoming remarks to begin the evening.

Alessandro Bogliolo is chief executive director of Tiffany & Co. He assumed this position and joined the Tiffany Board of Directors in October 2017.
 
Alessandro is a veteran luxury industry executive with nearly three decades of experience in general management, operations and marketing for luxury, fashion, jewelry and automotive brands. He started his career in 1989 at Bain & Co., a global business consulting firm, advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and strategy projects. Alessandro held positions at the Italian motorcycle and scotter company Piaggio before moving on to Bulgari SpA, the Italian jewelry and luxury brand. He served 16 years at Bulgari in senior executive roles including chief operating officer and executive vice president--jewelry, watches & accessories. Subsequently, he served as chief operating officer for North America at Sephora, owned by LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, the leader in global prestige retail. Most recently he was chief executive officer at Diesel, the internationally distinguished Italian denim and lifestyle brand where he led the company's efforts to revitalize its brand and enhance its customer experience.
 
In 2018 Alessandro was elected to the Board of Trustees of The Whitney Museum of American Art. He earned a degree in business administration from Universita Bocconi and completed the International Management Program at HEC Paris. 
 
Gianmario Verona has been Rector of Bocconi University since November 2016. He is a Professor of Management. He was TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) Chair in Market Innovation from 2012 to 2016. Prior to his appointment as Rector, he served Bocconi as Dean of the Faculty (2014-2016), Director of the MBA (2012-2014), and Director of the PhD in Business Administration and Management (2009-2012). He joined Bocconi's faculty in 1999.
 
Born in Milan. Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University, where he also obtained a PhD in Business Administration and Management. He has been a Visiting Scholar at MIT's Sloan School of Management and a Visiting Professor at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.
 
His teaching themes are related to Technology and Innovation Management with particular reference to Dynamic Capabilities; Knowledge Integration; User Innovation and Entrepreneurship. His research agenda is strictly linked to the strategic management of technology and innovation. He is currently Editor of the journal Strategic Organization (SAGE) and has served on the editorial boards of the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Management and the Journal of Management Studies.
 
Hon. Francesco Genuardi is an Italian diplomat with 26 years' experience in the field of International Relations and has achieved the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary. In March 2016 he was appointed Consul General of Italy of New York, the most prominent consular position in the Italian diplomatic service, covering the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Bermuda with a resident Italian population of 90,000 and more than 3 million Italian-Americans.
 
From November 2014 until his appointment in New York, he was at the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gentiloni. He dealt with parliamentary relations and worked with the succeeding Ministers in office (2005-2014). Previously, he was appointed Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Italy to NATO, where he was responsible for the relationship with the Press in Brussels and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (2002-05). Further he served as Deputy Consul at the Consulate General in Buenos Aires (1998-2002).
 
He joined the diplmatic service in 1993, and was at the General Directorate for Economic Affairs–where he dealt with international issues associated with environmental protection and safety (1993-1998). He graduated in Law from the University of Mlan in 1991. He is married and has two daughters.
